AI readiness diagnostic · Houston

Don’t put AI in your business. Not until you know where it fits.

Most of the money businesses lose on AI goes into automating the wrong job. Not a bad tool. Not a bad vendor. The wrong job.

Find where it fitsAbout a minute. No sales call. No email until you have seen your result.

The expensive version goes something like this. A business buys a system to send reminders and it never sends one, because the dates it needs live in two people’s heads and a stack of sticky notes.

The software worked. The inputs were never there.

The three things that decide it

Every job gets judged on the same three questions.

Frequency

Does this matter enough to fix?

How often it comes up, how many people it drags in, how long it has been that way. A two hour job once a quarter is not worth automating. Twice a day is a different conversation.

Pattern

Can software actually do this?

Whether the steps repeat, whether you could explain them out loud, and whether the information lives somewhere a computer can reach. This is where most projects quietly die.

Cost

What is it draining?

Who handles it now, what they give up to do it, and what another twelve months costs you. The answer is usually a person you cannot afford to lose.

Get all three right and the build is worth paying for. Get Pattern wrong and nothing else matters, however painful the job is.

How it works

Fifty six seconds. The whole thing, start to finish.
01

Describe your business

Three sentences. What you do, what you sell, who buys it.

02

Mark ten cards

Written for your trade, not a generic checklist. Pick the sentence that sounds like your week.

03

Get a straight answer

Including the answer where you should not build anything yet.

Who this is for

Operations heavy businesses doing roughly one to ten million a year. Big enough that a bottleneck costs real money, small enough that one person is still the bottleneck.

Under three people, most of this will not apply yet. If you already know exactly what you want built, skip the diagnostic and email me for a quote.

How I build

Next.js and Python, running against the large language models directly. Not a Zapier wrapper with a monthly fee attached.

That matters when the logic gets real. No code tools are fine until they are not, and the wall arrives at exactly the point the thing starts being worth money.

Questions people actually ask

How much does this kind of work cost?

A defined automation project for a business your size usually lands somewhere between five and twenty five thousand dollars, depending on how many systems it has to touch. The diagnostic is free and I will tell you before you spend anything if the job you have in mind is not worth building.

How long before it actually works?

Two to eight weeks to ship something running, if the data is reachable and somebody on your side can answer questions. Full return usually shows up over three to six months. Anyone promising a week has not looked at your systems.

Will this replace my staff?

Not in the work I do. The jobs worth automating are the repetitive ones your good people resent doing. If your bottleneck is one person who knows everything, the answer is usually to get what they know out of their head, not to remove them.

What happens to my data?

Ask this of anyone you hire, including me. You should know where your data goes, who can see it, and what happens to it when the engagement ends, before you hand over a single login.

Do you use Zapier and Make?

Rarely. I build with Next.js and Python, running against the large language models directly. No code tools are fine until the logic gets real, then you hit a wall you cannot move. If a no code tool genuinely solves your problem I will say so and you will not need me.

What if the diagnostic says I should not build anything?

Then you saved yourself a five figure mistake in about a minute. That result happens and the report says it plainly.

A minute now is cheaper than finding out the hard way.
